David Kan

Chief Executive Officer

David Kan, is the co-founder and major shareholder of Mustek, and its CEO since the Group’s inception in 1987. He holds a BSc (Eng) degree, with a major in mechanical engineering.


Doctor Mdu Gama

Independent Non-Executive Director

Doctor Mdu Gama, was appointed as director of Mustek in 2002. He holds a PhD (Finance) degree and various management qualifications from SA, US and UK universities. Mdu is currently CEO of Resultant Finance and an independent non-executive director of Calgro M3 Holdings limited and Sentula Mining Limited. He is also a trustee of the University of Johannesburg (UJ) Trust.


Ralph Patmore

Independent Non-Executive Director

Ralph Patmore was appointed to the Mustek Board on 16October 2009. He holds a BCom degree and a MBL which he obtained from Unisa’s School of Business Leadership. Ralph is also a non-executive director of William Tell Ltd, a.b.e. Construction Chemicals Ltd and ARB Holdings Ltd.


Hein Engelbrecht

Managing Director

Hein Engelbrecht is the managing director of Mustek. He joined the company in 1997 as group financial manager. Hein is responsible for the complete management of the company, with a focus on people development and organisational restructuring to ensure maximum sustainable benefit for all stakeholders.

He holds a BCom (Hons) CA degree and previously worked at Office Directions. Hein enjoys spending time with family and friends and is a big sports fan, enjoying relaxation time on the golf course. Hein is also a keen reader of magazines and autobiographies. The highlight of his career is working at Mustek – progressing through the company and playing a key role in the organisation’s development and expansion over the years. Another career highlight of his includes Mustek being honoured with a ‘best financial reporting’ award by SAKE Beeld.

Ms Lindani Dhlamini

Independent Non-Executive Director

Ms Lindani Dhlamini joined Mustek Limited as Independent non-executive director on 4th December 2015. She is a chartered accountant with over 20 years’ experience. She is the co-founder and the chief executive officer of SekelaXabiso as well as the chairperson of SkX Financial Services. She has in the past years continually entrenched herself as a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader through serving on various boards such as the Industrial Development Corporation of SA, Old Mutual Investment Group SA,Old Mutual MS Life,and Old Mutual Health. In previous years, she also served as a trustee of the South African Catering and Allied Workers’ Union Provident Fund while it was under curatorship in 2007 and served on the board of Nuclear Energy Corporation from 2002 to 2004.


Neels Coetzee

Financial Director

Neels Coetzee holds a BCom (Hons) degree, is a registered chartered accountant and joined the group in 2001 as the Group Financial Manager. Neels was appointed to the Board as Financial Director on 29 August 2008.


Rev Dr Vukile Mehana

Non-Executive Chairman

Rev Dr Mehana is an ordained Minister of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa who has been given permission by the Church to work in the Corporate World.

Dr Mehana started his business career in the Human Resource and Organisational Transformation area and progressed to strategic positions including Acting CEO of a major Parastatal, Director on Boards of listed and unlisted Companies and Chairman of a number of Companies.

He is currently the Chairman of Management Consulting Firm LRMG Performance Agency, the Chairman of Mazwe Financial Services and has recently been appointed Chairman of Community Schemes Ombud Services, an entity of the Ministry/ Department of Human Settlements. He serves as a Non-Executive Director of Sekunjalo Investments Limited, a JSE Listed BEE Company, and Makana Investment Corporation. Rev Dr Mehana is the Chairman of the Sizwe IT Group Board.

Rev Dr Mehana is also the Chaplain General of the African National Congress. He has recently been appointed as an Adjunct Professor by the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business where he lectures on a part time basis.

Rev Dr Mehana holds a B.Th Degree from Rhodes University, AMP from INSEAD Business School (France), Top Management Program Certificate on Public Enterprises from National University of Singapore, MBA from De Montfort University (UK) and D.Phil from the University of Johannesburg.
