The fi-5000N allows the scanner to be shared across your local area network as a common resource by up to 32 users.
Th fi-5000N offers two modes of working :
'Pull'
Users may 'pull' images from the networked scanner in a similar way to a locally connected scanner i.e. from any TWAIN enabled application, select the scanner and scanning parameters within the TWAIN driver, place documents on scanner, identify themselves to the fi-5000N either by fingerprint or PIN number, the scanned image will then be delivered back into the chosen application on their PC.
'Push'
Users identify themselves to the fi-5000N at the networked scanner location, using either fingerprint or PIN number, this information is used by the system to indicate the target PC, pressing the scan button will cause the target application to open on the users PC and the image be delivered to it.
Using the fi-5000N in conjunction with ScandAll21 allows users to automate many office processes. such as sending a document as an email attachment. i.e. place document on scanner, identify themselv es to the fi-5000N using either fingerprint or PIN number, on the target PC the email client will be opened with a new mail item with the scanned image document already attached, it only remains to select the recipients from the PCs email clients address book, enter the message text and send it.
All of the connected scanners native features, such as deskew, multiple feed detection, image processing etc are available to all users of the networked scanner.

The Fujitsu fi-6000NS Network Scanner is the first scanner that combines the intuitive, easy installation of a desktop scanner with the productivity of a network scanner.
Network scanning, collaboration, emailing and faxing just got a lot easier. Simply load your documents, log into the network, select the destination, and press the scan button.
The fi-6000NS scans in colour or monochrome at duplex speeds of up to 50 ipm. With a 600 dpi optical resolution, image quality is among the best in its class.
Not only does the network scanner offer ultrasonic double feed detection and long document scanning support (up to 34 inches), it also features hard card scanning capabilities (ISO7810 standard) and embossed card scanning through the main automatic document feeder (ADF). With a compact footprint of only 12.4 in. (W) x 10.8 in. (H) x 15.5 in. (D), the fi-6000NS installs easily into even the most crowded environments, making it ideal for both front and back office locations.

Its compact size isn’t the only reason the fi-6000NS saves space. Because it can scan to a network fax server system, scan to email, scan to shared network folders and scan to a network printer, it also saves space — and money — by eliminating printers, fax machines, and scanners that are no longer needed. Featuring a large touch-screen display and multi-lingual keyboard, the Fujitsu fi-6000NS offers the same input capabilities as a computer.
Need to email a document? Enter or select from address book the email address of the recipient, scan the document and touch the send email icon.
The scanned image can be sent as a .JPG,TIFF,MTIFF or PDF attachment. The PDF can be made searchable by the in-built OCR software before transmission, for additional security the PDF can also be password protected.

NOTE: This scanner requires access to a Windows 2000 or 2003 Server to provide the necessary LDAP and SMTP services to function correctly.
