Somewhere in South Africa, an executive boardroom boasts a leading edge technological solution which, according to hearsay, is one of three in the world. The suppliers and project managers have been sworn to secrecy regarding its owners and location, however some of the technology used to create this specific solution may be mentioned. The creators of this concept made use of NEC Display Solutions in South Africa, and together with Mustek and its dealer channel, supplied NEC LCD monitors and displays as part of this elite environment.
Depending on position and title, some very high level executives in South Africa may have the privilege of being invited to this boardroom. A boardroom where meetings are conducted with global leaders and corporations, where impactful decisions and outcomes originate. Hidden in the ceiling one will find five high-end NEC projectors which, in perfect harmony with the screens they project onto, descend magically like acrobats from their secreted positions above with the flick of a switch.
These projectors are each fitted with one of the 6 different optional lenses available for the NEC installation projectors in order to project exactly the right distance to match the size of the screens. These projectors equally provide the exact brightness required to make the images clearly visible to the audience near and far. The screens are placed in strategic positions to comply with the ergonomic design of the boardroom which enables attendees in different positions around the oval table to comfortably view the presentations without having to change sitting position.
Kilometers of cable are discreetly hidden in the ceiling, floor, walls and the table, all leading to the brain room where hundreds of small green LED lights indicate that all is well out front– the central control room where all electronic functionality is automatically executed by switches, controllers and software without manual intervention.
Operation of all equipment is managed from inside the boardroom from a central control platform. The majestic, solid wood oval table hides another secret - over twenty NEC 22” monitors are invisibly protected underneath the table and lie quietly there until required. They are brought to life when needed and raised to the table top with lifts specifically built for the purpose. Without any of the equipment in use, the massive, magnificently decorated room impresses its palatial quietude and ambiance on the visitor. However, when all the highest quality audio visual equipment springs to life, there is no doubt that appearances deceive. This room is a technological dream, delivering to its users a communication machine comprising of multiple pieces of hardware and software, all engineered to effortlessly interface and operate in unison, on demand.
NEC Display Solutions, Mustek and channel partners delivering this solution are proud to be associated with this magnificent project, one of its kind in South Africa and certainly an example of quality combined with skill – exactly to the specification of the customer.
