850 LIVELY YEARS OF CITY HISTORY – VISUALISED BY NEC DISPLAY SOLUTIONS
A bridge between tradition and modernity– this is the goal of the lavish permanent exhibition now on show at the Münchner Stadtmuseum. Since it opened in 2008 to celebrate the 850th anniversary of the foundation of the Bavarian state capital, the exhibition has been drawing in visitors with its imaginative use of the very latest in projection technology from NEC Display Solutions. Originally founded in 1158 and already receiving its city status in 1175, Munich spent the whole of 2008 celebrating this important anniversary. The 850th anniversary of the city’s foundation was also celebrated by a major multi-month renovation of the historic arsenal wing of the Münchner Stadtmuseum. This was opened in June 2008 with its new permanent exhibition entitled “Typically Munich!” Situated in the heart of Munich, the mediaeval arsenal building has been a part of the Münchner Stadtmuseum building complex since the museum was established in 1888, and its interior has now been completely redesigned and equipped with all the latest technologies. |

INCREASES IN RETAIL SALES USING DIGITAL SIGNAGE SYSTEMS
POS advertising (including posters for example) can also be made for the first time. Many medium sized businesses and retailers shy away from the level of investment represented by a retail signage system. There is always uncertainty, tied up with the question, “What could this type of system do for me?” This study answers numerous questions and clearly demonstrates that retail signage – or digital image advertising – can generate an appreciable boost in sales for food stores. |

WIDESCREEN FORMAT – BETTER ERGONOMICS AND PRODUCTIVITY FOR YOUR BUSINESS
Widescreen LCDs are becoming increasingly popular for business and private use. Users who spend many hours in front of a computer monitor each day are impressed by the spaciousness of the 16:10 format. In addition to this extra space, widescreen monitors offer many other advantages. The widespread belief that widescreen monitors are suitable for multimedia and entertainment applications but not everyday office work is easy to disprove. |

THANKS TO NEC PUBLIC DISPLAYS A PILOT PROJECT HAS BECOME A “SHOWPIECE” – THE DUS AD WALK AT DÜSSELDORF AIRPORT
The airport in Düsseldorf is the third largest airport in Germany and witnesses the arrival and departure of approximately 15 million passengers every year. Its catchment area covers the whole district around the regional capital as well as a large part of the Rhine and Ruhr areas: 70% of all passengers come from the most heavily populated federal region of North Rhine-Westphalia. With more than 2,500 employees, the airport is also one of the largest employers in the region. In 2004, the management of the airport, together with the company Infoscreen, launched an unusual pilot project aimed at revolutionising traditional forms of advertising to occasional customers: advertising trailers, tailored to the walking speed of the viewer and thereby grabbing their attention. |

When the Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Real-Time Analysis and Critical Response (RACR) division needed a display solution in its control center, it looked to Spectrum Video, Inc. to design workstations and a video wall that would allow its staff to work swiftly and efficiently, without worrying about the dependability of its technology. The workstations allow RACR staff to work in teams and enable collaboration, while area monitors mounted from the ceiling helps with decision-making in emergency situations. The ultra-narrow bezel video wall is viewable from virtually anywhere within the brand new facility. |

Hotel management spends a lot of time thinking about the guest experience and how to maximize enjoyment during conventions and meetings. One of the key elements of success revolves around communication – presenting the right information to guests at the right time in a format that catches their attention. In Las Vegas, there are many things competing for attention, and capturing viewers’ interests can’t be effectively accomplished with static posters or flyers at the front desk. |
