Executive Directors
Chief executive officer
David Kan, is the co-founder and major shareholder of Mustek, and its CEO since the Group's inception in 1987. He holds a BSc (Eng) degree, with a major in mechanical engineering.
Managing director
Hein Engelbrecht holds a BCom (Hons) degree, is a registered chartered accountant and joined the group in 1997 as a Group Financial Manager. Hein completed his articles with Grant Thornton Kessel Feinstein and spend two and a half years as financial manager of Office Directions (Pty) Limited. Hein was appointed to the Board on 1 September 2001.
Financial director
Neels Coetzee holds a BCom (Hons) degree, is a registered chartered accountant and joined the group in 2001 as the Group Financial Manager. Neels was appointed to the Board as Financial Director on 29 August 2008.

Non-executive director
Ralph Patmore was appointed to the Mustek Board on 16October 2009. He holds a BCom degree and a MBL which he obtained from Unisa’s School of Business Leadership. Ralph is also a non-executive director of William Tell Ltd, a.b.e. Construction Chemicals Ltd and ARB Holdings Ltd.
Non-executive chairman
Doctor Len Konar, joined the Mustek board on 25 November 2003. Dr. Len is a chartered accountant and was previously executive director of The Independent Development Trust where he was, amongst other activities, responsible for the internal audit and investments portfolios. Prior to that, he was Professor and Head of the Department of Accountancy at the University of Durban-Westville. He is the past patron of the Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa, and a member of the King Commitee on Corporate Governance, the Security Regulation Panel, the Corporate Governance Forum and the Institute of Directors. He is also the chairperson of the Ministerial Panel for the review of the regulation of accountants and auditors. Dr. Len is also a non-executive director of Old Mutual South Africa, the South African Reserve Bank, J D Group, SAPPI, Kumba Resources and Steinhoff International Holdings.
Non-executive director
Mdu Gama, was appointed as director of Mustek in 2002. He holds a MBA degree and various management qualifications from SA, US and UK universities. Mdu is currently CEO of Safika Asset Finance (Pty) Limited and a non-executive director of Comztek (PTY) Limited
Independent non-executive director
Thembisa Dingaan, aged 36, holds a LLM degree and joined the group in 2009 as an Independent non-executive director.
Thembisa is also a director of the Development Bank of Southern Africa where she is also a member of the Credit and Investment, Audit and Finance Committees. She is also a member of Trade and Industry Standing Advisory Committee on Company Law. In August 2008, Thembisa was appointed by Cabinet as a board member of the Export Credit Insurance Corporation of South Africa (ECIC).
